Website
Introduction
Throughout my master's degree program I have needed to create several websites for different purposes. Here is a list of all the websites I've created and still use:
* Classroom website
* 7th Grade Team
* SIG Proposal
* Online Portfolio
Context
The SIG proposal was created in CEP 812, Applying Educational Technology to Practice. The content of the site was created by my group, but I was the one who began the site and gave it its basic structure and layout. This website is a resource for educators who want to learn how to incorporate wikis to promote collaboration among their students. This site takes you through the planning that needs to be done, including TPACK in order to successfully implement this strategy. This site also highlights the research that supports what is presented on the site and ideas for lessons using wikis.
Educational Application
Designing websites can serve numerous purposes in education. The main goal of a website is to communicate information. Websites are not collaborative tools, unless you think about them in the context of multiple editors; however, they are generally not collaborative with the audience, but some do contain feedback mechanisms.
As you can see from the websites above I have created a classroom website to communicate homework and extra resources to parents. I have also created a 7th grade team website so parents have a one-stop-shop to all the 7th grade information; including a link to my science website.
Technologies Used
* Google Sites
* Weebly
